about babies.

I’ve noticed how many tumblrs are getting ready to have babies, and it makes me think of just 5 and a half short months ago, when I was in your shoes. I never wrote any kind of “birth experience” blog post, since this blog is really about things that are pretty and delicious, and my birth experience was neither of those things. But, I know how curious I was when I was nine then nine and a half, then pushing ten months pregnant, so I though I’d jot a few things down if any of you happen to be interested. 38.5 weeks. The picture on the top was 22 short weeks ago, and the “closet” it was taken in is now a nursery. Never could I have imagined that my belly was able to grow so much, or that I’d become so attached to something (someone?) I haven’t even seen yet. I’m hoping this is the last belly picture I will be posting, since I’ve been taking one every two weeks. Hopefully, two weeks from now I’ll be holding a baby, and on my way back to the belly of 20 weeks ago. Oh, the miracle of life. My biggest baking project yet.

the bump at 32 (and a half) weeks! the way we can see her moving is unbelievable…elbows, feet and butt everywhere! and yes, that little thing poking out of my belly is some sort of weird new belly button. it’s not quite a full outy, but getting there. i can’t wait to see this baby girl.
